In an era where renewable energy is not just a choice but a necessity, our company, in collaboration with the Department of Energy Philippines, is propelling forward into a brighter, greener future with the launch of the Dagohoy Solar Power Project in Bohol. This initiative marks a significant milestone in our commitment to sustainable energy solutions and community development. Let's delve into the transformative journey of the Dagohoy Solar Power Project, a beacon of innovation and progress in the heart of the Philippines.
The journey of the Dagohoy Solar Power Project began with a simple yet momentous ceremony on May 9, 2024, that set the stage for what is poised to be one of the most significant renewable energy projects in the region. Key stakeholders, including Bohol Governor Erico Aris Aumentado and Dagohoy Mayor Hermie C. Relampagos, alongside officers from PetroGreen Energy Corporation (PGEC) and its subsidiaries, bore witness to the installation of the first solar array. This array, comprising 32 panels each with a power capacity of 665 watts, symbolizes the project's ambitious vision. Mounted on a 21 by 5-meter table and elevated about 1 meter above the ground, it represents the first step towards the realization of the Dagohoy Solar Power Project's potential.
Spanning across 22 hectares, the Dagohoy solar site's transformation is underway, soon to be adorned with 40,628 units of Trina Solar brand panels. Once operational, the project is expected to generate 41,000 MWh of power annually, a testament to our company's commitment to harnessing sustainable and clean energy. The inauguration of the PV module installation, attended by esteemed officials and representatives from various sectors, including the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) and the S.N. Aboitiz Power Group (SNAP), underscores the collaborative spirit driving this project forward. It is a spirit fueled by innovation, dedication, and a shared vision for a sustainable future.
Parallel to the launch of the Dagohoy Solar Power Project, our company unveiled the We Power H.E.L.P. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program. This initiative highlights our dedication not only to environmental sustainability but also to the welfare and development of our host communities. Focused on teachers training, scholarship grants, and livelihood initiatives, particularly in the enhancement and management of rattan, the program embodies our holistic approach to corporate responsibility. It is a testament to our belief that true progress is inclusive, benefiting not just the environment but also the people who call it home.
The Dagohoy Solar Power Project, together with the Department of Energy Philippines, is more than just an energy project; it is a beacon of hope and a model for sustainable development. As we move full swing towards its completion, we are reminded of the power of collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to a greener future. This project, once completed, will not only contribute significantly to the Philippines' renewable energy capacity but also inspire further innovation and commitment to sustainability across the globe.
As we embark on this journey, we remain steadfast in our commitment to harnessing the power of the sun to illuminate the path to a sustainable future, proving that together, we can achieve remarkable milestones for our planet and its people. The Dagohoy Solar Power Project is not just a testament to what we can accomplish today; it is a promise of what we can achieve tomorrow.
