A Spotlight on Opportunity: First Gen Corporation's Invitation to Bid for Liquefied Natural Gas Spot Tender

SOURCE: The First Gen Corporation

In the ever-evolving world of energy, the demand for sustainable and reliable solutions has never been more pressing. The First Gen Corporation (“FGEN”), a public company incorporated in the Philippines, is at the forefront of this movement, seeking to procure a single cargo of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) through a wholly-owned subsidiary, First Gen Singapore Pte. Ltd. This is a unique opportunity for experienced LNG suppliers to contribute to the energy landscape in the Philippines.

Natural gas, and in particular LNG, is a cornerstone of the energy sector. FGEN’s existing gas-fired power plants in the First Gen Clean Energy Complex in Batangas, Philippines will utilize the procured LNG. This demonstrates the critical role of LNG in the broader scope of energy supply and sustainability.

FGEN invites bids from experienced LNG suppliers for the supply of one (01) LNG cargo on a Delivered Ex-Ship (DES) basis. This invitation is an open door to participate in a pivotal project, contributing to the power supply in the Batangas region.

The LNG cargo will be delivered at the port located in the First Gen Clean Energy Complex in Batangas, Philippines. This energy complex is the heart of the project, underlining the commitment of FGEN to sustainable and reliable power supply.

The journey of the LNG cargo is critical, and the supplier will be responsible for loading it into the BW Batangas. This process is crucial for the successful delivery and utilization of the LNG.

Interested bidders are requested to execute a Confidentiality Agreement prior to receiving the Bid Documents. This agreement, which may be obtained from FGEN through email, emphasizes the importance of discretion and respect for the bidding process.

All bids must be prepared and submitted in accordance with the instructions in the bid documents pursuant to the ITB. This ensures fairness and transparency throughout the bidding process.

The award to the selected bidder is expected to be made on 6 March 2024. This timeline provides a clear road map for all parties involved in the bidding process.

FGEN reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel the invitation to bid or to reject any or all bids prior to the acceptance of a bid or proposal. This underline the committed to ensuring the best fit for this important project.

This invitation to bid marks a significant step towards a sustainable future, with FGEN leading the way. It's an opportunity to be part of a transformative project that will shape the energy landscape in the Philippines.
