Insight Global, an international staffing company, recently unveiled a game changer in the healthcare sector. The company's Manila-based "Grit Academy", a state-of-the-art training center aimed at equipping nurses with vital skills to operate effectively in U.S. healthcare settings, was officially opened amidst much fanfare. This momentous occasion was marked by a grand ribbon-cutting ceremony graced by the company's CEO, Bert Bean, and a host of other esteemed guests.
The ceremony wasn't just about cutting ribbons but served as a platform to recognize and applaud the academy's mission and impact. The event was attended by Insight Global Health clients, leading Philippines-based hospitals and universities, the undersecretary of the Division of Migrant Workers (DMW), and more. It also served as a welcome event for the academy's fourth class of nurses—the largest batch yet to be enrolled in the program.
The Grit Academy, a pioneering 13,000 square foot training facility nestled in Manila, Philippines, is equipped with highly technical simulation labs featuring high-fidelity mannequins, conference rooms for didactic training, computer labs for self-paced modules, and more. These cutting-edge facilities are designed to ensure that the nurses’ transition and employment in the U.S. is successful.
In an interview with CNN Philippines, Insight Global Health President, Jessica Calzaretta, emphasized the meticulous attention to detail that went into curating the academy's equipment and technology. This commitment to excellence ensures that nurses practice with the exact tools they'll be using in U.S. hospitals, fostering confidence and providing a seamless transition.
The academy's four-month International Transition to Practice Program doesn't just focus on education and upskilling. It offers comprehensive support to the nurses as they relocate to the U.S., assisting with travel plans, housing, and transitioning to a new country and community. The academy extends its support to the nurses' spouses and family members by connecting them with job opportunities.
With over 400 enrollees, the program has already successfully relocated 41 Grit Academy graduates to the United States to commence their careers in the U.S. healthcare system.
The Grit Academy has forged a strategic partnership with Multicare Health System, a Tacoma, Washington-based not-for-profit healthcare organization. Graduates from the academy will enter the healthcare system as registered nurses when they relocate to the U.S.
